Joaquin Rodriguez & Myra Rodriguez I’m in the process of transferring hundreds of my father’s 35mm slides — a visual diary of his travels from the 1970s and early 1980s — into a digital format. Each frame holds a piece of a world that no longer exists: unfamiliar streets, timeless architecture, and strangers frozen in color that only film could create. These aren’t just photographs; they’re echoes of a generation that lived slower, saw deeper, and documented without filters or hashtags.

As I scan and restore these moments, I’m not only preserving my father’s story — I’m rekindling a visual language that’s been fading from memory. I also plan to collect forgotten slides from estate sales and personal archives, reviving long-lost journeys and giving their stories a second life. Together, these images form a collective time capsule — a gallery of places, people, and perspectives that remind us just how much of the world we’ve already lived, and how much of it still deserves to be seen.
